Forrest Merithew started his own legal practice in 2013 to focus on the Outdoor Industry and businesses and entrepreneurs who have a passion for what they do. Forrest provides comprehensive cost-effective general counsel legal services and consulting for product and service endeavors, including, but not limited to entities and formation, fundraising and investment, product development and liability, contracts and regulatory needs, risk management and insurance coverage, intellectual property and branding, and conflict resolution, including litigation and collections. He applies his skills and background towards creative-problem solving, commercial strategy, and real-world solutions. In addition to legal work, Forrest enjoys the excitement of business, operations, marketing, and logistics and can be a resource as an advisor or other non-legal role, or just to chat about ideas and strategy.
Forrest is an avid outdoors-person and applies his personal knowledge about products and activities in conjunction with his professional experience and skills to assist and protect Clients in their endeavors in the Outdoor Industry. He enjoys travel and the outdoors any way he can, including: mountain biking, snowboarding, running, surfing, climbing, beach volleyball, SUP, hiking and camping. He has found that this direct personal knowledge of recreation activities, and the physics, equipment, and standards involved, provides clientele with more complete representation and results. As a small business owner himself, but legal experience with national and international companies, Forrest understands and respects the challenges for start-ups and promoting and protecting growth with an eye towards sustainable success. He’s looking forward to being a resource and sounding board at the Wayfinder Co-op.
